Voiceovers, sound and music
Type a script and pick a voice, and Paraplex reads it aloud, with captions that appear on each word exactly as it's spoken. Describe a sound or a mood, and it makes a sound effect or a piece of music to go with your animation.

Where to find it: press and hold the dock's Audio button and choose Voiceover · with captions on each word…, Sound effect from words… or Music from words…. They open the Voice panel.
Make a voiceover
- Move the playhead to where the voice should start.
- Open Voiceover.
- Type the script.
- Pick a voice. Type in Find a voice to search them.
- Pick a speech model, and set the Pace.
- Leave Captions, on each word checked for captions, and pick their style.
- Click Make the voiceover.

The voice lands as an audio clip at the playhead, and the captions as a Captions layer, timed from the voice's own reading.

| Speech model | What it's like |
|---|---|
| Expressive | The most natural read |
| Turbo | Nearly as natural, and quicker |
| Multilingual | Steady across 29 languages |
| Flash | The fastest and cheapest |
| Caption style | What it looks like |
|---|---|
| Shorts | Two words at a time, big and bold, a third of the way up the frame |
| Documentary | Two words at a time, quieter |
| Subtitle | A line at a time, low in the frame |
Tip
Make the voiceover once the script is final. Every reading is charged, so read drafts aloud yourself, or ask the assistant to tighten the script first.
Make a sound effect
- Move the playhead to where the sound should be.
- Open Sound effect.
- Describe the sound, such as "a soft glassy whoosh that rises and settles", and set how many Seconds it lasts.
- Click Make the sound.

Make music
- Open Music.
- Describe it: the instruments, the mood, the pace.
- Set its length in Seconds, and check Instrumental for music without singing.
- Click Make the music.

Music always starts at the beginning of the piece. Trim it, fade it and set its volume like any audio clip. See Audio.
Captions as a file
To put your captions on YouTube or another player, choose Menu › Export captions (SRT)… or Export captions (WebVTT)….
Credits and voices
Each panel shows about what it costs, and the credits are spent before it's made. With your own ElevenLabs key, it costs no credits, and your own cloned and saved voices appear in the list. See AI credits and keys.
