Backing up your library

Without an account, your work lives in one browser. A library export puts all of it in one file: every project, your design systems, skills and components. Keep it as a backup, or open it in another browser.

Export your library

Choose Menu › Export library…. The file downloads as paraplex-library-2026-10-20.json, dated today.

It holds:

  • Every project in this browser, with its pictures.
  • Your design systems and their brand assets.
  • Your skills, components and shader presets.
  • The scene that's open, even if it's not saved as a project.

It doesn't hold your generated 3D models, your plugins, your API keys or your account.

Import a library

  1. Choose Menu › Import library… and pick the file.
  2. A message says what came in. Reload the page to open the restored scene.

Importing adds to what this browser has. A project in both keeps the newer version. Nothing else is changed or removed.

Tip

Signed in with cloud sync on, your projects and library are already kept in your account, on every browser you sign in on. A library export is still a good backup to keep somewhere safe. See Cloud sync and revisions.

Settings files

Menu › Export settings saves just the open scene's settings (the canvas size, the timeline, and every setting in the properties panel) as a settings file. Import settings… applies such a file to the open scene. It's for copying a setup between scenes, not a backup.
