The Type in motion template: the words Every letter, on cue animating onto black, lit by a cool blue glow and a warm ember glow

Kinetic typography is type that moves with what it says. In Paraplex, every word is a layer in a real 3D scene. Presets split it by character, word or line, beat markers decide when each word lands, and the text stays live and editable the whole way through.

Words that land on the beat.

Select a music track and Detect beats drops a marker on every beat and reports the tempo. Clips snap to the markers, so titles and cuts land on the drum hits.

Then pick the motion: Stomp, Tumble, Scatter or any other preset, split by character, word or line. Kinetic stomp, playing here, is a ready-made title card with its own drum beat. Swap in your words and your track.

Choose how the words arrive.

Every preset comes tuned with its own timing, stagger and curve. Choose how it splits the text and where it starts, play it backwards on the way out, or turn one phrase into the next.

Text on a beige background reads 'Then it gets messy.' The word 'messy.' is crossed out in orange with a strikethrough and several orange lines. Above 'messy.', the word 'interesting.' is handwritten in black with a blue underline and a small orange star symbol next to it, sourced from a handwriting doodle text video template in Paraplex.

Split

By character, by word or by line.

Start

From the start, the end, the center, the edges, or in a shuffled order.

Exit

Any preset also plays backwards as an exit, at a time you set.

Swap

Turn one phrase into the next while the shared opening words stay put.

Type with depth.

Concept render

Letters you can light.

One click turns flat text into solid 3D letters with depth and a bevel, in matte, glossy, glass, frosted, metal or chrome.

Concept render

Light sweeps.

Run a bright band across a word, or give it an outer or inner glow you can keyframe.

Decode, Code and Dust.

Letters flicker through random characters before they settle, lock in from left to right, or gather out of specks and blow away as dust.

Effects that hit the letters, not the frame.

The 26 effects in the effect library run on the whole frame or on a single layer. A word can glitch, split its colors with chromatic aberration, or wobble like jelly as it moves while the rest of the frame stays still, and every effect's dials can be keyframed.

Glitch title, playing here, snaps a title in letter by letter on the beat while bursts tear the frame and its colors split apart.

Type for every kind of video.

Counters for stats, captions for voiceovers, a typewriter for code and chat, and titles that fit every screen.

01

Numbers that count up.

Turn any text into a smooth Counter, a rolling Odometer or a running Clock, with decimals, thousands separators and a prefix or suffix such as “$” or “% OFF”. Stat drop, playing here, is a 9:16 template built around an odometer.

02

Captions, word by word.

Type a script and pick an ElevenLabs voice, and each word gets a caption timed from the voice itself. Choose Shorts (two words, big and bold), Documentary, Subtitle or Spoken, where each word lights up as it's said.

03

A typewriter, cursor and all.

Letters appear one at a time, with an optional bar, underscore or dot cursor that blinks once the line is done and an accent color on the newest letters. As an exit, it deletes like a backspace.

Black background with a row of ten squares near the top, the first square is orange and the rest are white. Above the row is text saying 'one costly problem' and below the row is larger text stating 'problem not', sourced form an animated chart video template titled the "AI ROI Gap" from Paraplex, made by James Cannella.

04

One title, every screen.

Add 9:16, 1:1 and 4:5 export formats and each becomes an artboard of the same scene. Text sized in vw, vh or percent follows each artboard, and safe zones show where TikTok, Reels and Shorts cover the frame.

Questions about kinetic typography

How do I make kinetic typography without After Effects?

Open Paraplex in your browser, type your words on the canvas and pick a text animation preset. Each preset splits the text by character, word or line and comes tuned with its own timing, stagger and curve. Add a music track, use Detect beats to snap each word to the drums, then export.

How many text animation presets does Paraplex have?

38, in seven groups: Type, Soft, Reveal, Kinetic, Turn, Signal and Color. They include Stomp, Mask rise, Blur in, Tracking in, Decode, Glitch in, Flip in, Tumble, Scatter and Typewriter, and any preset also plays backwards as an exit.

Can I sync text animation to music?

Yes. Select a music track and Detect beats drops a marker on every beat and reports the tempo. Clips snap to the markers, so words and cuts land on the beat.

Can I make 3D kinetic typography?

Yes. One click turns flat text into solid 3D letters with depth and a bevel that catches the scene's light, in matte, glossy, glass, frosted, metal or chrome. Every Paraplex scene is real 3D, so turn the layer or move the camera and the letters show real depth and reflections.

Can I add word-by-word captions to a voiceover?

Yes. Type a script and pick an ElevenLabs voice, and Paraplex adds the voiceover as an audio track with a caption on each word, timed from the voice. Caption styles include Shorts, Documentary, Subtitle and Spoken, and captions export as SRT or WebVTT.

Is the kinetic typography maker free?

Yes. Paraplex's free plan includes the whole editor, every text animation preset included, and exports video up to 1080p at 30 fps with no watermark. 4K at 60 fps is on Pro.
