A Jitter alternative with real 3D.

Jitter is a fast, well-liked 2D motion tool. Paraplex is for when you need what it doesn't do: advanced 3D, real glass, chrome and light, an assistant whose outputs you can fully edit every layer and keyframe of, and scenes that ship as video or as a live web embed.

Free 1080p exports, no watermark. Runs in your browser.

Both

Run in the browser, have a free plan, export video, GIF and Lottie, and make versions from a spreadsheet.

Three differences that change what you can make.

Both tools are fast and run in your browser. These are the places where the finished piece itself comes out different, not just the workflow.

01

Real 3D, not 3D effects.

As of October 2026, Jitter's 3D is effect-level: 3D flips and rotations applied to flat layers. Every Paraplex scene is real 3D, lit by real lights and environments, with physically based glass, chrome, metal and wood, cast shadows and reflective floors.

It still edits like a flat design tool: press D and the camera faces the frame head-on, with smart guides and auto layout. Add depth when you want it, import GLB models, and on Pro, switch to the path-traced Studio render for final frames.

02

AI you approve, change by change.

Both tools now build editable layers with AI instead of a flat video, so the difference is the workflow around it. Paraplex's assistant works with 140 tools across layers, keyframes, camera moves and materials, and every turn arrives as a preview you Apply or Discard. Applied changes undo in one step, and Director mode writes a plan and a storyboard before it builds.

Jitter

03

Charts, code and live embeds.

Paste a CSV and Paraplex builds an animated bar, line, pie or scatter chart where every bar is a layer. Paste HTML, CSS or a React component and it becomes a code layer that runs on the timeline's clock, GSAP timelines included. Then publish the scene as a live embed that answers hover, click, drag and scroll, so one scene can be your site's hero and your launch video.

Jitter ships updates most weeks, so check its changelog for anything newer than October 21, 2026. Both tools export video, GIF and Lottie. The biggest gaps run in both directions: real 3D and live embeds on one side, templates and team editing on the other.

When Jitter is the better choice.

Jitter is a strong tool, and for some teams it's the right one. As of October 2026, pick it in these cases, or use Paraplex beside it for the shots that need 3D. If that's you, then check back in with us in a few months - we're building & improving our product fast.

A much bigger template library.

Jitter has 300+ templates. Paraplex has 62, each with the ability to edit every layer, keyframe, light and camera movement. Paraplex is adding new templates every week.

Live co-editing for a team.

Jitter workspaces edit together in real time, with comments and up to 50 editors on Max. Paraplex has no real-time co-editing yet: you share a link or send someone an editable copy.

A Figma plugin with a following.

Jitter's Figma plugin is used by more than 300,000 designers and brings frames in as editable layers in a click. Paraplex's Figma plugin just launched in October, 2026.

2D motion without keyframes.

Jitter's action-based timeline lets you tell layers what to do without setting keyframes, which suits quick social and UI animation. Paraplex's AI assistant helps you deal with keyframes quickly and painlessly.

ProRes, and 4K at 120 fps.

Jitter exports ProRes on Pro and up, and 4K at 120 fps on Max. Paraplex video exports run up to 4K at 60 fps, on Pro. Stay tuned for this feature to come to Paraplex.

A long track record.

Jitter says more than 20,000 brands and agencies use it, with customer stories from Perplexity, Deliveroo and Gamma. Paraplex is just getting started.

Moving work over from Jitter.

Paraplex is designed to be easy to start using, but it doesn't open Jitter project files yet. Bring your work across in open formats, then add what was missing. Import design systems, 3D models, fonts, tokens, and raw HTML/JS/CSS code into Paraplex with just a few clicks.

Lottie.

Jitter exports Lottie on every plan. Paraplex opens .json and .lottie files as native layers with their keyframes and easing, and lists anything Lottie can't carry instead of dropping it.

SVG.

Paste SVG code from Figma, Illustrator or a code editor, and every shape arrives as an editable vector path with its colors and strokes.

Fonts.

Upload your TTF or OTF fonts once. They're saved inside the project and travel with it.

Then add the depth.

Give flat layers depth, a glass or chrome material, a light and a camera move, while their keyframes stay on the timeline.

Other Jitter alternatives.

Paraplex isn't the only option. If your work leans a different way, these tools are worth a look, as of October 2026.

Questions about Paraplex and Jitter

What is the best Jitter alternative for 3D motion design?

As of October 2026, Paraplex is a browser-based Jitter alternative for 3D motion: its scenes use real lights and physically based glass, chrome and metal, while Jitter offers 3D flip and rotation effects on flat layers. For 2D motion with a large template library and team collaboration, Jitter remains a strong choice.

Does Jitter support 3D?

As of October 2026, Jitter offers effect-level 3D, such as 3D flips in its Effects panel and 3D rotations built with Jitter AI, rather than native 3D scenes with lights and materials.

Is Paraplex free?

Yes. Paraplex's free plan includes the whole editor, exports video up to 1080p at 30 fps with no watermark, and comes with 100 AI credits a month. Pro costs $19 a month billed yearly or $24 month to month and adds 4K at 60 fps, transparent video, batch export, Studio render and 1,500 AI credits a month.

Does Paraplex have as many templates as Jitter?

No. As of October 2026, Paraplex has 62 editable templates in 13 categories, against Jitter's 300+. Every Paraplex template keeps its layers, keyframes, lights and camera moves open to edit.

Can Paraplex export Lottie like Jitter?

Yes. Paraplex exports the flat parts of a scene (shapes, text, pictures and groups with their keyframes and curves) as Lottie, and it also imports Lottie files as editable layers. Lottie can't carry 3D, lights, particles, effects or camera moves, so Paraplex lists those instead of dropping them silently.

Does Paraplex support real-time collaboration like Jitter?

Not yet. As of October 2026, Paraplex offers shareable links, links that give someone their own editable copy, and notes on the canvas, while Jitter workspaces support real-time co-editing and comments, with up to 10 editors on Pro and 50 on Max.

How is Paraplex's AI different from Jitter AI?

Both build editable layers rather than a flat video. Paraplex's assistant works with 140 tools across layers, keyframes, camera moves and materials in a 3D scene, shows every turn as a preview you Apply or Discard, and can storyboard a plan first in Director mode. As of October 2026, Jitter AI runs on Claude Sonnet 5.5 or Claude Opus 5.5, depending on the mode you pick.
