Connect an agent

An agent on your computer, such as Claude Code, can work in the Paraplex tab you have open. It builds and changes your scene with the same tools the assistant uses, looks at frames as it goes, and exports. Everything it does lands in your tab, each change one undo step, so you can step back through anything.

Start in Claude Code, finish in Paraplex: ask for a piece in your terminal, then fine-tune it by hand.

Add Paraplex to Claude Code

Run this once in a terminal:

claude mcp add paraplex -- npx -y paraplex-mcp

This adds the Paraplex MCP server to Claude Code. It runs on your computer only, and waits for your Paraplex tab to connect. It needs Node.js 18 or newer.

Connect your tab

  1. In Claude Code, ask for what you want. For example: make a 10-second launch video in Paraplex with three glass cards and our name.
  2. Claude Code gives you a port and a six-digit code.
  3. In Paraplex, choose Menu › Connect an agent.
  4. Enter the port and the code, and click Connect.

A banner at the top of your tab shows while an agent is connected. Click Disconnect in it any time.

If your browser asks whether app.paraplex.ai may connect to devices on your local network, click Allow. That's the agent, on your own computer.

What an agent can do

  • Start a blank file, or open a template.
  • Add and change layers, keyframes, camera moves, text animation and more, with the assistant's tools, including building a whole piece in one step.
  • Look at the frame at any moment, and check that nothing important is cut off and every word is readable.
  • Export a still or a video to your computer, and save the scene as a project.
  • Bring in a HyperFrames project it wrote, folder and all, with import_hyperframes: ask Claude Code to make it in HyperFrames, then bring it into Paraplex.
  • Write a Remotion composition as a code layer, with run_tool and write_code_layer.

The agent changes only the scene in the tab you connected. It never sees your other projects, and nothing it does is sent anywhere else.

Credits

The agent's own thinking runs on your Claude Code plan. Anything it generates inside Paraplex, such as a picture or a 3D model, uses your Paraplex credits as usual. See Plans and credits.

If it doesn't connect

  • Nothing answered on that port. Check that Claude Code is running and has started the server: ask it to connect to Paraplex again for a fresh code.
  • The code doesn't match. Codes change each time the server starts. Use the one Claude Code gave you most recently.
  • Your browser blocked it. Allow app.paraplex.ai to connect to your local network, then click Connect again. Use Chrome, Edge or Arc: other browsers may not let a website reach your own computer.
