Top bar and Menu

The top bar runs along the top left of the editor. It holds the way home, the Menu, undo, the view controls, Preview, your project's name and Share.

The top bar with its buttons numbered
  1. Home: the Paraplex button takes you to the home page. Your scene stays open behind it: your browser's back button returns to it as you left it.
  2. Menu: projects, exports, imports, and the scene's formats and settings. Everything is described below.
  3. Undo and Redo: ⌘ Z and ⇧ ⌘ Z. On Windows, Ctrl Z, and Ctrl Shift Z or Ctrl Y. They're dimmed when there's nothing to undo or redo.
  4. Reset view: puts the camera back to the scene's home view (F). See Moving around the canvas.
  5. 2D: turns 2D design mode on and off (D). While it's on, two buttons appear beside it: the design grid and 8pt snapping. See 2D design mode.
  6. Preview: try your piece the way a viewer would. The button turns green while Preview is on.
  7. Project name: Untitled for a blank file, the template's name for a template, until you name it. Click it, type a name and press Enter, or press Esc to cancel. A template you've changed shows its copy's name, such as Card stack (Copy).
  8. Share: a link to watch your piece, a copy to edit, or an embed.

Two more buttons can appear at the end of the bar:

  • Notes · 3 (with your count) shows or hides the scene's notes. It appears only when the scene has notes. See Notes.
  • Sign in opens your account. Once you're signed in, it shows your email and your remaining credits. See Account and sign-in.
