Fonts

Paraplex comes with twenty fonts, from clean sans serifs to scripts and seven-segment displays. For your brand's own typefaces, upload the font files: they're kept in the project and appear in the font list beside the others.

Choose a font

Select a text layer, and pick a font in Font in the Text settings bar. Your uploaded fonts come after the ones Paraplex has. See Text.

Upload your own

  1. Choose Menu › Fonts › Upload font (TTF/OTF)….
  2. Pick a .ttf or .otf file. Upload each weight and style you need (Regular, Bold, Italic) as its own file.

The font appears in Menu › Fonts, tagged added: choose it there to put it on the selected text, or pick it in the Font list.

Note

Uploaded fonts are kept in the project, so they travel with it to your other devices. They aren't shared when you publish a design system: a font's license belongs to whoever bought it.

Things to know

  • Paraplex sets type itself, so text looks the same on the canvas, in exports and in embeds, on any computer.
  • For text that animates letter by letter, a font with clear shapes at small sizes reads best. See Text animation.
  • A Figma frame that uses a font the project doesn't have comes in with the nearest one. Upload the font and import it again. See Figma plugin.
